Only Oprah can do an interview in 1990 and it’s still relevant today. President Trump seems to be having a lot of issues with his cabinet picks. The senate democrats have already boycotted and protested two of his nominees.

These acts were due to the senate democrats feeling that the two candidates were incompetent. This was decided after their senate committee meetings. Andrew Puzder may not be on the senates good side for another reason.

Back in 1990 Oprah interviewed Puzder’s ex-wife during a taping of her show. Oprah’s network released the tape of the show to the senate for their review. Lisa Fierstein, Puzder’s ex-wife, was in during the interview.

She discussed the allegations of her being physically abused by Andrew Puzder. Later on she retracted the statements that she made on Oprah’s show.

“I was hesitant, in the letter to the HELP committee, but encouraged by friends and became caught up in the notion of a free trip to Chicago and being a champion of women and women’s issues. I regret my decision to appear on that show.”

Senate democrats of the HELP committee said that they feel “deeply troubled” by Fierstein’s retraction statement.

Four senate republicans on the HELP committee say they are undecided about Puzder. Having four republicans vote against him will cause him his seat as labor secretary.
